Now that Spring has finally arrived, I have Spring Cleaning on my mind in a major way! This time of year really motivates me to clean and organize. Spring is a great time to shed some extra clutter in order to go into the sunny season a little lighter! I find that cleaning and organization can make me feel less mentally cluttered too. I tend to get overwhelmed when things are too unorganized. Spring is a great excuse to hit the ground running and tackle all the projects that fell by the wayside during the cold winter months!
Messiness is something I’m very much used to as a mom. My kids love to play, and their play encroaches upon almost every room of our house. I am not strict about it, but I do try to get them to clean up at the end of their play time if possible. That follow-through is something that’s really important to me. At the very least, we try to clean up at the end of each day. But doing so can sometimes lead to rushed clean-ups and that helps things get a little unorganized. Spring is a wonderful chance for me to right the ship and recalibrate what isn’t working in my home.
Although I am a stay at home mom, it isn’t always easy to sit down and organize. I usually have errands to run and daily tasks to complete in order to keep our lives running smoothly each day. I find that setting small goals can make my ability to accomplish a task much greater! Writing lists also help me stay on top of what organization projects I hope to complete. Attainable goals make things a lot easier to complete. As moms, it’s in our nature to want to do ALL the things, but focusing on one organization task a week is a great place to start!

One place I love to start with is my fridge. I LOVE giving my fridge a refresh!! Perhaps that’s because my family loves to eat and I love to grocery shop! I start by emptying my fridge completely and throwing away anything I don’t want anymore, especially condiments. You’d be surprised how fast those add up! Once I’m done, I spray down every shelf and sanitize. Once dry, I love to add my Fridge Coaster liners to my shelves because it helps give my fridge a more unified, clean look. Fridge Coaster liners are great because they are bright, functional and can be fit to almost any refrigerator out there! They have many colors and patterns to choose from! I have the navy stripe, and I just love how they are not only cute, but they do a great job of protecting your fridge! I highly recommend you check them out!

Once I throw away everything I don’t want anymore, I start to be conscious of what I’m putting back into my fridge and where. I tend to keep kid-friendly food and snacks at their reach. I like to use clear organization baskets in my fridge to eliminate things falling over and getting cluttered. I love this bin from Target for my yogurts. It’s expansive, I can pull it right out and holds quite a bit. I love adding these smaller bins for my kids’ snacks. They are great for smaller shelving space and very durable. One of my favorite fridge organization bins is my berry basket. We go through lots of fresh fruit and this bin helps keep my berries fresh. Not only that, the bin itself is great and stacks nicely in my fridge. It’s also has a basket component to the bin so you can easily take it out to rinse your berries. I highly recommend this for any berry lover!

Cleaning your fridge is a great way to help you stay motivated to cook as well as eat healthier. The ability to see what you have and what you need helps eliminate unnecessary food purchases. It can help eliminate waste as well. Having a good fridge organization can really be a game changer to help keep everything looking nice and neat. Fridge Coaster also helps me by adding a bit of color and functionality to my fridge as well! Now, on to my next project! Stay tuned…
