Once fall arrives, after-school and weekend activities pick up in a big way! Last year, Ben started baseball and in doing so discovered a deep passion for sports. From baseball to basketball, he truly loves it all! Ben has grown so much since becoming part of a team. It has taught him so many lessons about sportsmanship, perseverance and discipline. I love watching him work hard, practice, make plays and score points! It gives him confidence both on and off the field. Baseball also has helped teach Ben how to lose. While anyone who has kids in t-ball or baseball can tell you, sometimes it can be quite entertaining to watch! We always try to instill in Ben that it truly doesn’t matter whether you win or lose, but that you have fun playing the game!
One of the highlights of my fall weekends is being a spectator at Ben’s baseball games! Even in a pandemic, it’s nice to feel a little normal and chat with other parents who are also cheering on their sons and daughters! Outings such as these have taken on new significance these days, so I try to put emphasis on these spurts of normalcy and make them as fun and stylish as possible!
I put together a list of some of my favorite fall sports essentials for moms! These are items that I love and would be amazing to have on hand at any baseball or soccer game!! I love being warm, comfy and cozy while also being stylish and functional at the same time. I really think these items are everything you need to knock it out of the park!
- Bleacher cushion – I cannot live without a bleacher cushion! Those metal seats are so painful, and now that I have one, I am very lost without it. I sometimes bring my own foldable chair thanks to COVID, but these cushions are very easily transportable.
- 20 oz Yeti Tumbler – I love my Yeti tumblers because they truly keep my coffee hot (or iced). I love the 20 oz style, but be sure to get one with the “magslider” top.
- Chappy Wrap Blanket – I adore Chappy Wrap! Their blankets are super soft and do very well in the laundry! They come in three sizes – mini, midi and original. They are perfect to throw in your sports wagon and keep yourself warm while watching the game! I especially love this navy pattern!
- Baller Hat – Hats are a baseball essential item, and not just for players! I love Lululemon hats because they are so comfortable and perfect for any weather!
- Sports Wagon – I have talked about our foldable sports wagon before, but they are great for any sports game, especially those with heavy equipment! Our baseball fields can sometimes be a hike from the car, so this caddy has been a lifesaver!
- Tortoise Sunglasses – These glasses are one of my FAVORITE Amazon finds. They are under $14 and are a great tortoise style. The shape is great too! I am very picky about my tortoiseshell looks, some glasses look too much like tiger stripes, but these look way more expensive. I love the matte finish as well! Perfect to toss in your bag and not have to worry!
- Dudley Stephens Fleece – Dudley season is fully upon us, and I couldn’t be happier! Their cozy sweaters are my go-to’s once the weather turns crisp. I love their Cobble Hill and Park Slope styles, although my biggest problem is picking a color! They are all so beautiful. I especially love the Natural Blush and Navy color. I can’t wait to add more to my closet very soon!
- Everywhere Belt – I have raved about this bag in stories, and it’s truly been such a staple piece in my closet. While the term “fanny pack” is so yesterday, Lululemon has reinvented this bag to be worn at your waist or across your chest. Perfect for a walk with kids or whenever you go somewhere that you don’t want to lug a huge purse around. I have it in 2 colors. While the stock is limited online, my local store had much more color options!
- Kids Yeti Rambler – Ben loves his Yeti Tumbler, and it’s been such a great item to have for his sports games because it keeps his water cold. You can also get it monogrammed with their name or team logo on their website!
